Dear Partner-in-Mission,

First and foremost, let us express our apologies for the lack of update to our lives. There are just so many things that happened within the last few months. We believed that by now, you would have received our last postcard in regards to our new status as parents to Baby Elisha (born on 18th Dec 1998). We are just so thankful for the many blessings that our Lord bestowed upon us. We thought of just showing you some shots to help you know a little bit more of what are the things that has taken place.

(1) 17th of Jan (Sun)
Evangelistic Thanksgiving Service for the birth of Elisha.

After much prayer and consideration, having no past experience as model for us, we decided to take the step to trust God by seizing this great opportunity to bring the gospel message to our immediate family members. We thank God that we saw a total of about 30 adults and 20 kids who came for the special occasion.

Thanx to helpers like Tuck Weng & Lian See who help to entertain the kids. They were creative in making it possible for the kids to design and make their own card for the occasion. Well, Tuck Weng and Lian See, "WE ARE IMPRESSED AND THANKFUL FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP!" image004.jpg (12K)

Our 2 mothers interact, with Baby Elisha as the center of attraction. This is the power of baby! He serves as a good transition for us. This is true even during our daily encounter.Though we may not know what their minds are thinking or their hearts are feeling, we believe that God has already started a good work in them and He will bring it to completion. We are just so thankful that we could actually make that stand for our faith. As we have been praying for our family salvation, with this step of faith, it will further enhance our commitment and desire to see our family members come to know Christ personally.

(2) 28th of Jan (Thu)
Elisha's first time to our ministry weekly meeting.

It was a real excitement as we get involved in ministry as a family. It is our prayer that we will build and model a godly Christian home that will honor our good and risen Lord. By the way, for many of you who have seen Elisha, you must have agreed that he is indeed a crowd puller ......

(3) 5th of Feb (Fri)
EQ (Emotional Quotient) Seminar by Mr Chiang Wen Wei from Life Skill Center.
image010.jpg (10K) This picture captures the participants having a practical & interaction time. They have found the meeting to be informative and helpful. Through the session, Mr Chiang was also able to weave in the gospel presentation naturally. At the end of the session, he gave an invitation for the people to invite Christ into their lives.
All in all, in this 2nd semester, we organised a total of 3 evangelistic meetings. They are:
date meeting attendance people received christ
15th jan (fri) dave park's relationship talk 400 11
5th feb (fri) eq seminar 300 5
5th mar (fri) awakening productions' band, "nailed" 70 1

These events were planned as a result of a campus survey conducted in the last academic year. This is an attempt to know our target audience such that we can be connected with them.

As a ministry, in the last academic year of '98 - '99, on a one-to-one personal evangelism, we have :
Presented the 4 Spiritual Laws to - 1749 people
No. of people who prayed to received Christ - 202 people
Presented the Holy Spirit booklet to - 172 people
No. of people who appropriated the Holy Spirit - 76 people

All glory be to our God !

Prayer Focus

** Please continue to keep us in prayer as we do not want to be found complacent and obsolete. "WE WANT TO REMAIN AT THE CUTTING EDGE!"
** Thank God for keeping us well as a family. Elisha is growing and Estella is doing well in looking to his needs. Pray that we will know how to draw strength from God and not to be drawn into the worldly system in bringing him up. Pray that he will grow in the fear of the Lord.
** We are praying for our future ministry direction. Pray that we will choose to walk in His ways at all times. ( We will keep you updated in our next newsletter. We have no plan to leave Campus Crusade.)
** Continue to pray alongside with us for our family salvation.
** In the month of May & June, we will have a total of 3 teams of Mission Trippers leaving for Tokyo, Nagoya and Poland. Please pray that the lives of the Mission Trippers and those whom they minister to will be changed for eternity sake.
