MOVEMENTS EVERYWHERE so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus.                      September 07 issue

29 Jun to 5 Jul, Campus Missions 2007 (in short CM2007) @ Busan, Korea

16,000 college students & staff from 124 countries participated. Personally, 1 thing that stood out most is how much I witnessed God's love for Japan. Not only has He not forsaken JAPAN, He has put that love for Japan in the hearts of many Christians all over the world! I was not only approached once but several times by many new people asking for Japan prayer request and likewise at the Missions Festival where we had a booth, I heard from fellow Japanese staff & students who helped manned our JAPAN booth that we had long lines of people visiting, 'not to get some freebies because there were none, but to be put on a prayer list so they'd get prayer requests from us, to pray for us!' There were also many people who said that they will not only pray for Japan but are taking steps to come serve in Japan in the near future. God is indeed moving in ways we can't see & for that, we need not lose heart!

Aug 2 to 4, Summer Friends Camp @ Okutama, Tokyo

Campers preparing their own lunch The primary aim of this camp is to continue building bridges to our existing pre-Christian contacts in a non-threatening environment. We saw a total of more than 50 students & staff, of which 20 of them are pre-Christians (mostly are contacts we made since April Freshman Orientation month). We were encouraged to see many of our pre-Christian contacts participated in our daily optional early morning session on 'Getting to know the Bible' & was carried through their deep sharing about their lives & thoughts during the night cabin time¡Our family was there & the kids were able to enjoy nature & the company of many big sisters & brothers. Please continue to pray that these relationships will bear fruit for JESUS in His time!

This past June 21st marks our completion of 5 years of service in Tokyo, JAPAN. Other than the first summer in 2002 when we had just first arrived & were going through transition, this is the first summer break we have as a family in Tokyo. We apologize for the lack of communication especially we came to realize that some of you were kind of expecting to see us back in Singapore & yet it never happened.

With my siblings visiting our previous owners, the Kanekos
    1. We are thankful for those of you who knew & prayed about Patrick's siblings' visit (4 sisters, eldest brother & sister-in-law) from Aug 5 to 13. We believed that it has served as yet another opportunity for them to know of what it means to believe in Jesus. Please continue to remember our family salvation, especially for Estella's aged parents!
    2. Due to the worsening of Hitoshi's skin condition, we decided to bring him to see the pediatric skin allergy specialist in late July. Hitoshi was referred for a blood allergy test. The result on 11 Aug showed that his allergy to egg and milk has gone down - both are 1 out of 6 (highest). But his allergy to house dust and mites went up to 4 and 5 respectively. Please continue to pray with us that we will have the wisdom to know how best to create an environment that will be conducive for his growth.
